Starting this Saturday, Leisure Time Games will be hosting prerelease events for the latest Pokémon set, Scarlet and Violet Paradox Rift
On Saturday, October 21st, Leisure Time Games will be hosting a Paradox Rift prerelease. We will have Build and Battle packs available for open play, as well as for a Build and Battle tournament. This will give players a chance to try out this new set before its official release.
What is the Scarlet And Violet Paradox Rift Expansion Set?
From the Official Pokémon Website:
"Dive into the clouds and explore a land that appears to be unbound by time! With ferocious attacks, Ancient Pokémon like Roaring Moon ex and Sandy Shocks ex appear alongside artificial Future Pokémon like Iron Valiant ex and Iron Hands ex. Meanwhile, Garchomp ex, Mewtwo ex, and others Terastallize to gain new types, as Armarouge ex, Gholdengo ex, and more Pokémon ex join the fray. What's a Build and Battle Box?
A Pokémon Build and Battle box is a fun way to build a deck and battle your friends right on the spot. For $24.99 plus tax, you will get
- A 40-card ready to play deck including 1 of 4 promo cards (see below for more info)
- 4 booster packs
- a code to play the Pokémon TCG Online game
Use your boosters and whatever basic energy cards you have to change your deck any way you want. When playing this limited format, you play with 4 prize cards instead of 6.
Build and Battle Box Promos
In your Build and Battle box, you'll find 1 of 4 randomly inserted promo cards. These cards will be
- Chi-Yu
- Iron Bundle
- Xatu
- Aegislash

Paradox Rift Prerelease Tournament
Starting at 12:00 PM, we will be hosting a prerelease tournament. For your $24.99 plus tax entry, you will receive
- 1 Paradox Rift Build and Battle box (see above for details)
- 1 special Play! Pokémon Prize Pack with your free entry into the Play! Pokémon Trainer Club*
- 3 Paradox Rift boosters at the completion of the tournament
- Basic Energy cards you'll need to complete your deck
Tournament Details
- Sign ups begin at 12:00 PM
- Deck building begins at 12:30 PM
- Round 1 begins at 1:00 PM
- Rounds will be 30 minutes
- Number of rounds will be determined by the number of participants
- Each round will be a single game (instead of best of 3)
- Games will be played with 4 prize cards instead of 6
Just to reiterate, the 3 booster packs will be given to participants at the conclusion of the tournament as a thank you for participating
*All entries into the tournament must be enrolled in the Play! Pokémon Trainer's Club. If you are not, we'll get you signed up. Under 14 years of age must have a parent's permission. Once enrolled, you are eligable for further prize support at our Monday Play! Pokémon Trainer's Club League. See below for details.
Join Our Play! Pokémon Trainer's Club League
During our prerelease, we invite you to join our Play! Pokémon Trainer's Club League. When you come in and purchase a Build and Battle box, if you would take a moment and sign up to be a part of our league, we will give you a Play! Pokémon Prize Pack absolutely free. Once you join our league, feel free to join us Mondays from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM to play other Pokémon TCG enthusiasts, and earn more prize packs by completing various Pokémon adventures. Our ongoing league is free to play, and we'll be happy to have you.

Unless otherwise specified, all listed sales prices do not include CA sales tax. So whatever it says, add 8.75% and there you go.
